Employee Contact Database
In the early days of the web, everything was moving online that had traditionally been kept in silos - in other words, hidden away in directories on a long-forgotten server somewhere.
That's why I was asked to develop a web-based database to display the often needed contact information of the employees of Coca-Cola Bottling Company in North America.
I reported directly to the Vice-President of Marketing for Coca-Cola Bottling Company - which wasn't intimidating at all. Seriously, she was very nice!
Because of the legacy servers and technology they had, I developed the employee contact database using Active Server Pages and Microsoft SQL server.
Key Responsibilities / Achievements Include:
- web and database development
- conversion of printed information into digital data that could be queried by searches against the database
- Design and develop the site data and information architecture which presented the data in an aesthetically pleasing way
- Give the user multiple methods of accessing the data based upon the variety of contact fields contained in the data (Name, phone, unit, social handles, manager, etc.)
- Build and launch site on the Coca-Cola development environment across their development, testing, staging, and production servers utilizing HTML, CSS, Javascript, Active Server Pages (ASP) and Microsoft SQL server
- Site garnered high praise and acclaim for the design and functionality by Fortune 500 peer groups in Marketing and Human Resources
